Terms of Service

Kaadas Singapore Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to products and services supplied by The Smart Series Pte Ltd ("Kaadas Singapore", "we", "us" or "our") through our website, showroom, sales channels and authorised representatives.

By placing an order for our products or services, you agree to these Terms together with the applicable quotation, order confirmation, Warranty Policy, Return Policy and any other terms expressly incorporated into your purchase.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or restrict any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted under Singapore law.

1. Our Products and Services

Kaadas Singapore supplies and installs digital locks and related products for residential and commercial premises.

Our services may include, depending on your purchase:

  • product supply;
  • delivery;
  • installation;
  • configuration and setup;
  • user registration;
  • biometric setup;
  • mobile application setup;
  • smart connectivity configuration;
  • troubleshooting;
  • repair and replacement services; and
  • after-sales technical support.

The exact products and services included in your purchase will be stated in your quotation, order confirmation or other written agreement.

2. Product Information and Performance

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, specifications and other information published on our website are accurate and current.

Digital lock models may differ in features, specifications, dimensions, software functions and compatibility. Features may also depend on the applicable model, firmware, mobile application, connectivity and other technical requirements.

Where there is a difference between general website information and the specific product or service stated in your quotation or order confirmation, the specific quotation or order confirmation will generally apply.

3. Digital Lock, Biometric and Smart Features

Digital locks use electronic, software and biometric technologies.

Depending on the model, authentication may include fingerprint recognition, facial recognition, vein recognition, PIN codes, cards, mechanical keys or other access methods.

Biometric recognition is affected by real-world conditions. Recognition performance may vary depending on factors such as:

  • finger position and placement;
  • moisture, dirt or condition of the finger;
  • changes in appearance;
  • lighting conditions;
  • facial angle or distance;
  • accessories or coverings;
  • environmental conditions; and
  • product configuration.

An occasional unsuccessful biometric recognition attempt does not, by itself, establish that the product has a manufacturing defect.

Customers should maintain the alternative access methods provided with their product and should not rely exclusively on a single biometric or electronic access method.

4. Smart Features, Applications and Connectivity

Certain products include smart features that depend on mobile applications, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, internet connectivity, cloud services, servers, firmware or third-party technology.

The availability and performance of these functions may be affected by:

  • internet connectivity;
  • Wi-Fi coverage;
  • mobile-device settings;
  • mobile operating-system updates;
  • application updates;
  • firmware;
  • cloud or server availability;
  • third-party service interruptions; or
  • changes made by manufacturers or technology providers.

We will provide reasonable assistance in diagnosing connectivity or smart-feature issues. Where an issue is caused by a third-party system or service outside our reasonable control, we may assist with troubleshooting but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability of that third-party service.

5. Door and Gate Suitability

Digital lock installation depends on the condition, construction, dimensions and configuration of the door or gate.

Before installation, we may assess the door or gate to determine whether the selected product is suitable.

Customers are responsible for informing us of relevant circumstances affecting the installation, including previous modifications, structural issues, unusual door or gate configurations, defects, access restrictions and other relevant conditions.

Where additional work, modification, replacement or reinforcement is required, additional charges may apply if agreed with the customer.

6. Installation Services

Installation will be carried out by our installers or authorised technicians according to the applicable installation requirements.

Installation may involve drilling, cutting, adjustment, alignment, wiring, removal of existing hardware or other reasonable work necessary to install the product.

The final installation result may depend on the condition and construction of the existing door or gate.

We are not responsible for pre-existing defects, concealed conditions or structural problems that could not reasonably have been identified before or during installation.

Where additional work is required, we will inform the customer where reasonably practicable before carrying out chargeable additional work.

7. Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for:

  • providing accurate contact and installation information;
  • ensuring reasonable access to the installation location;
  • following product operating instructions;
  • maintaining appropriate batteries and replacing them when required;
  • keeping access credentials secure;
  • maintaining alternative access methods;
  • following reasonable troubleshooting instructions;
  • providing photographs, videos or other information reasonably required for diagnosis;
  • keeping the mobile application and compatible devices appropriately updated; and
  • informing us promptly if a problem occurs.

Customers should not attempt unauthorised modifications, dismantling or repairs where doing so may affect the product or warranty.

8. Technical Support and Troubleshooting

When a customer reports a technical issue, our standard approach is to first understand and diagnose the reported symptom.

Depending on the circumstances, we may request:

  • photographs;
  • videos;
  • screenshots;
  • error messages;
  • product and serial-number information;
  • installation details;
  • information about when and how the problem occurs;
  • information about the operating environment; and
  • other reasonable information required for diagnosis.

Where appropriate, our technical team may provide troubleshooting instructions.

Many issues involving settings, batteries, connectivity, application configuration or user operation can be resolved remotely.

Where an issue cannot reasonably be diagnosed or resolved remotely, we may arrange an on-site assessment in accordance with the applicable Warranty Policy or service terms.

9. How We Assess Product Issues

A reported symptom or failure does not, by itself, establish that a manufacturing defect exists.

Depending on the circumstances, an issue may relate to:

  • product hardware;
  • software or firmware;
  • configuration or settings;
  • installation;
  • batteries or power supply;
  • connectivity;
  • third-party applications or services;
  • user operation; or
  • environmental or door/gate conditions.

We will assess reported issues based on the available information, including the circumstances in which the issue occurs, frequency, reproducibility, troubleshooting results, photographs or videos, product settings, installation conditions and other relevant factors.

Where a manufacturing defect is confirmed, the applicable warranty or other statutory remedy will apply.

10. Warranty

Our digital locks are covered by the applicable Kaadas Singapore Warranty Policy.

The Warranty Policy sets out:

  • warranty duration;
  • covered products;
  • covered manufacturing defects;
  • diagnostic procedures;
  • troubleshooting;
  • on-site assessment;
  • repair and replacement;
  • exclusions; and
  • customer responsibilities.

The current Warranty Policy is available on our website.

Warranty coverage does not mean that every reported symptom automatically qualifies for free repair, replacement or on-site service. Eligibility is determined through the applicable diagnostic and assessment process.

Nothing in these Terms or the Warranty Policy excludes any rights that cannot legally be excluded under Singapore law.

11. On-Site Technical Support

Where our assessment indicates that an on-site inspection or service is reasonably required, we will arrange an appropriate technician visit subject to availability and the applicable warranty or service terms.

Our "on-site warranty" refers to on-site service for eligible warranty matters in accordance with the Warranty Policy. It does not mean that every technical question or reported symptom automatically requires or qualifies for an on-site visit.

Where a customer requests an immediate technician visit before the standard diagnostic process is completed, any applicable inspection deposit or service charge will be communicated before the visit.

An on-site inspection does not, by itself, constitute confirmation that a manufacturing defect exists.

12. Repairs and Replacement

Where a manufacturing defect covered by the applicable warranty is confirmed, we may, subject to the applicable warranty terms and applicable law:

  • repair the affected component;
  • replace the affected component;
  • replace the product; or
  • provide another remedy available under applicable law.

The appropriate remedy will depend on the nature of the issue, product availability, repairability and applicable legal requirements.

Replacement products or components may be new, refurbished or equivalent where permitted by applicable law and the applicable warranty terms.

13. Returns and Refunds

Digital locks are installed products and returns are therefore subject to the applicable Return Policy and the circumstances of the purchase.

Customers should contact us promptly if they believe a product is defective or does not conform to the agreed purchase.

A manufacturing defect will be assessed before a repair, replacement or other remedy is provided.

Nothing in our Return Policy or these Terms is intended to exclude statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Please refer to our current Return Policy for the applicable return and refund process.

14. Orders and Order Confirmation

An order is subject to product availability, installation availability and confirmation by us.

We reserve the right to correct genuine pricing, specification or availability errors.

Where an order has been accepted and confirmed, the agreed price and scope stated in the applicable quotation or order confirmation will generally apply unless otherwise agreed in writing.

15. Deposits

A deposit may be required to reserve products, installation capacity or other services.

The amount of the deposit and applicable payment schedule will be stated in the quotation or order confirmation.

Where a customer cancels, postpones or materially changes an order, we may retain or apply an appropriate portion of the deposit toward costs reasonably incurred by us, including committed stock, labour, installation arrangements or other costs, subject to applicable law and the specific terms communicated to the customer.

Where the cancellation is caused by an error or failure on our part, we will assess the appropriate refund or remedy in accordance with the circumstances and applicable law.

16. Payment

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • the required deposit is payable to confirm the order;
  • the remaining balance is payable according to the payment terms stated in the quotation or order confirmation; and
  • payment must be completed when due.

Where an amount remains overdue, we may suspend further services until payment is received, subject to applicable law.

We may seek recovery of reasonable costs incurred in recovering overdue amounts, to the extent permitted by law.

17. Batteries and Consumable Items

Digital locks require appropriate batteries or power sources.

Customers are responsible for using the recommended battery type and replacing batteries when required.

Battery leakage, incorrect battery installation, unsuitable batteries or failure to replace depleted batteries may damage the product and may affect warranty coverage where the damage results from such circumstances.

Customers should follow the battery and maintenance instructions applicable to their model.

18. Third-Party Applications and Services

Some digital lock functions may rely on third-party applications, operating systems, cloud platforms, telecommunications networks or other external services.

We do not control the availability or operation of third-party services.

Where a third-party service experiences an outage, delay, compatibility issue or change, we will provide reasonable assistance where possible, but resolution may depend on the relevant third-party provider.

19. Promotions

Promotional offers are subject to their specific promotional terms.

Unless expressly stated otherwise:

  • promotions cannot be combined;
  • promotional gifts are subject to availability;
  • promotions may have specific eligibility requirements; and
  • promotional terms apply in addition to these Terms.

Where a promotion has separate written terms, those terms will apply to that promotion.

20. Website Information

We aim to keep our website information accurate and current.

However, product availability, pricing, specifications, photographs, descriptions and other information may change.

We may correct genuine errors or omissions and update website content when reasonably necessary.

Website photographs and colours may differ from the actual product due to screen settings, photography and other factors.

21. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the content of our website, including text, photographs, graphics, logos, videos and other materials, belongs to or is licensed to The Smart Series Pte Ltd or the relevant rights holder.

You may not reproduce, modify, distribute or commercially exploit our content without appropriate permission.

22. Privacy

Personal information provided to us is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Customers should ensure that information supplied to us is accurate and that they have appropriate authority to provide information relating to other individuals.

23. Limitation of Liability

We will be responsible for our obligations under applicable law and the applicable purchase, installation and warranty terms.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be responsible for losses that are not reasonably foreseeable or that arise from circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited under Singapore law.

Where a limitation of liability is permitted by law, our liability may be limited to the amount permitted under the applicable contract, warranty or law, having regard to the nature of the claim.

24. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control

We will not be responsible for delays or inability to perform caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, government action, transportation disruption, major telecommunications or internet outages, manufacturer delays, supply shortages or third-party service outages.

We will take reasonable steps to minimise the impact and resume service as soon as reasonably practicable.

25. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

The version applicable to a purchase will generally be the version incorporated into or referred to by the applicable quotation, order confirmation or agreement.

Changes to website Terms will not, by themselves, alter an already confirmed purchase unless permitted by the applicable agreement or law.

26. Entire Agreement and Order of Documents

These Terms should be read together with the documents applicable to your purchase.

Unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing, the following order of priority will generally apply:

  1. the signed quotation or order confirmation;
  2. any written variation agreed between the parties;
  3. the applicable Warranty Policy;
  4. the applicable Return Policy;
  5. any applicable promotional terms; and
  6. these Terms of Service.

If a provision conflicts with a mandatory requirement of Singapore law, that legal requirement will prevail to the extent of the conflict.

27. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be modified or severed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue to apply.

28. No Waiver

If we do not immediately enforce a right under these Terms, this does not mean that we have waived that right.

29. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms and the purchase of our products and services are governed by the laws of Singapore.

Where a dispute cannot be resolved through reasonable discussion between the parties, either party may pursue the remedies available under Singapore law.

Nothing in these Terms prevents a consumer from exercising any statutory right or remedy available under Singapore law.
